Douglas E. Reynolds - Los Angeles

Doug Reynolds, Managing Director, is a career middle market investment banker with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Reynolds founded Reynolds Advisory Partners in 2008 after growing the M&A practice at Headwaters where he served as Managing Director. Previously, Mr. Reynolds dedicated 17 years of his career to serving middle market clients in A.G. Edwards’ M&A group. During his tenure at A.G. Edwards, Mr. Reynolds was ultimately responsible for supervising all the M&A and financial advisory activities of the firm’s 25 Managing Directors within the 85 person investment banking group.

During his career, Mr. Reynolds has developed numerous client relationships in a variety of industries including: defense technology, business services, consumer and industrial products, food processing, and publishing while building a reputation for investment banking excellence. As M&A Group Head for A.G Edwards, Mr. Reynolds increased M&A revenues dramatically while maintaining a “client first” culture within the department.

To date, Mr. Reynolds has completed over 80 public and private company M&A transactions worth over $10 billion. Selected transactions include:

  • Advising Sycamore Services LLC in its sale to Language Line Holdings LLC
  • Advising Coherent Technologies Inc in its sale to Lockheed Martin
  • Advising Xrite, Inc in its $280 million cross border tender offer and merger with Amazys Holding AG, a Swiss public company. The transaction involved numerous public company and cross border complexities. Upon completion the transaction was named “Cross Border Deal of the Year” By M&A Advisor Magazine
  • Advising US Premium Beef Ltd in its acquisition of National Beef Packing Company. Services included raising $337 million of bank and high yield financing and $35 million of minority strategic equity to allow this Co-op to acquire National Beef via a 363 auction
  • Advising West Publishing in its sale to The Thompson Corporation for $3.45 billion resulting in the largest private company sale in the United States in 1996

In the mid 1980s, Mr. Reynolds served as a Corporate Tax Consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. creating complex M&A tax structures for major M&A transactions.

Mr. Reynolds received the Elijah Watt Sells bronze medal for placing third among 70,000 applicants on the May 1983 CPA Exam.

Mr. Reynolds received his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration with honors from Miami University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
