Bennett F. Monson

Ben Monson is Vice President at Reynolds Advisory Partners, LLC and has ten years of finance and investment experience including the past five years tenure as a middle market and boutique mergers and acquisitions investment banker.  Mr. Monson focuses on serving clients and executing M&A and strategic advisory assignments across all industries at Reynolds Advisory Partners.

Prior to joining Reynolds Advisory Partners, Mr. Monson served as a Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions advisory business of Evercore Partners, a leading global M&A advisory boutique investment bank.  Mr. Monson was a key member and founder of a new consumer and retail industry-focused M&A advisory practice at Evercore from 2007 to 2009.  Mr. Monson served a number of corporate and financial sponsor clients while at Evercore and executed advisory assignments for clients including Lowe’s Companies, Sun Capital Partners, Delhaize Group, and Golden Gate Capital.  From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Monson was an Associate at Piper Jaffray & Co. in San Francisco, where he focused on consumer and retail industry M&A and corporate finance.  Mr. Monson’s clients at Piper Jaffray included P.F. Chang’s, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Rex Stores, Gilchrist & Soames, Jamba Juice, Sweet Leaf Tea Company, Catalina Restaurant Group, and Einstein Noah Bagels.

Mr. Monson also served an investment analyst at Raymond James & Associates from 2001 to 2003, covering the real estate and hotel industry, and was a Summer Associate at Cowen & Company in New York in 2004.  Mr. Monson started his career as a consultant at KPMG, LLP in Washington, DC from 1999 to 2001.

To date, Mr. Monson has closed transactions and advisory assignments worth in excess of $2.4 billion.

  • Advising the management team and Board of Directors of Lowe’s Companies on an undisclosed strategic project
  • Advising Sweet Leaf Tea Company on a minority private equity financing from Catterton Partners
  • Advising Gilchrist & Soames on its sale to Swander Pace Capital
  • Advising the Seminole Tribe of Florida on its acquisition of Hard Rock International for $1.0 billion from Rank Group, Plc.
  • Advising Jamba Juice Company on a strategic alternatives process that resulted in a sale to SVI, Inc., a publicly-traded shell company, for $265 million
  • Advising Wexford Capital on the sale of Catalina Restaurant Group to Zensho, Ltd.
  • Advising Dynamic Graphics on its sale to Jupiter Media for $64 million

Mr. Monson earned a B.S.F.S. degree from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at The University of Virginia, where he was the MacFarlane Scholar.
